Malta International Airport (MLA) is a busy facility providing the sole air gateway to the Maltese archipelago. Having been refurbished in the early 1990s, its interior has a pleasant and modern ambience.

The airport's tourist information counter is situated in the Welcomers' Hall and is open to deal with queries at all hours of the day or night. Shops, Duty-Free and Retail Outlets
Beyond passport control, travellers will find duty-free outlets selling an extensive range of products including confectionery, skincare, cosmetics, sportswear, sunglasses, wines, delicatessen products, spirits, tobacco, perfumes and jewellery. There is a small selection of shops including a newsagent, florist, pharmacy, sweet shop and a mobile phone shop in the public areas of the airport.
Bars, Cafés and Restaurants
Malta International Airport (MLA) offers a variety of options for dining and refreshments which include popular names such as Hard Rock Café and a McDonald's Drive Thru, which is located outside of the terminal building. The Island Snack Bar in Departures provides light bites, while the Connections and Flitebite caféterias offer basic cooked meals, snack and beverages. For alcohol, the Wine Bar in Departures offers a selection of beers, wines and spirits.
Currency Exchange, Communications and Banking Facilities
There are two banks at Malta International Airport (MLA) - the Bank of Valleta and HSBC Malta; the former is located inside the Welcomers' Hall. A bureau de change and ATMs can be found in the Baggage Reclaim area. A post office run by Maltapost is also available in the Check-in Hall.
Business and Conference Facilities
There is no business centre at the airport although travellers will find public Internet kiosks and Wi-Fi access at various locations throughout the airport.
Disabled Facilities
Facilities for passengers with special needs conform to EU standards and include special low telephones throughout the terminal as well as specially designed lifts, escalators and toilets, and dedicated car park spaces in the airport's main car park.
